The new office aimed to be a place for practicing “wellness” and “ZEB” while cherishing “memory of the old branch”. We worked with the building owners on “ZEB” to increase added value while maintaining business as a small-to-medium-sized tenant office building. In addition to visualizing the office in order to disseminate the way of working reform to the society, the lounge used for multiple purposes such as customer service and meetings, work spaces, various events, libraries, coffee breaks, lunch times, bar times, tea ceremony activities It is a “wellness” space that plans space and realizes free working styles and activation of communication. In addition, I thought about setting up the space unique to Hakata and reusing art of the old branch and materials of the old tea room of the old branch to inherit “memory of the old branch”.
With the BELS certification system, we have an architectural plan with a high thermal insulation / high thermal insulation facade, low utilization of natural energy by daylighting, adoption of high efficiency equipment, etc., and a facility plan with low running costs. Acquired Japan’s first ZEB Ready certification as a tenant office building. Reduced primary energy consumption by 52% over standard buildings. In addition, focusing on the fact that the site is located at the contact point between the business area continuing from Hakata Station and the forest of Sumiyoshi Shrine, we constructed a space based on the concept of “the union of the city and nature.” The lounge with the motif of the space under the eaves of the shrine is an integrated space where guests and employees are connected in a row with one instantaneous light control glass. In the space under the eaves, we arranged Japanese elements such as tea room, enclave, plaster wall and acupuncture. On the other hand, it is a contemporary Japanese-style space by laying down the sober and natural uneven carpet of Shaw under the eaves and reusing modern art of the old branch and arranging colorful furniture of Western style. It sublimes into a realistic expression.
