Programming, space planning, and interior design elements are centered on bringing various departments together and creating an open and collaborative atmosphere to further the level of interaction amongst employees throughout the company. Collaborative work spaces are interspersed throughout the open office. Each area is unique in seating configuration, media capability, and recreational components. The variety of collaborative spaces encourages movement and allows for ample spaces to meet informally, work in groups, and enhance their social connections within the office. An employee café provides further opportunity for social interaction. A series of interior seating areas interfaces with the exterior through a partially operable glass wall, facing the courtyard which forms the heart of the facility. Natural daylight is a primary design consideration throughout the facility, particularly in office areas. Open office spaces feature tall windows distributed along the building perimeter, throwing light deep into the space. Private offices, held towards the center of each office wing, feature a glass front facing in the direction of the open office and perimeter windows, allowing the private offices to take advantage of the natural light without blocking light from the open office.
The sustainable focus of the campus is driven by the desire to create an environment centered on the well-being of the employees who spend their days there. The facility is designed to encourage employee movement. By interspersing different types of meeting and collaborative work space throughout the office, employees are drawn to move around the office to seek out different places to work depending on need. In addition to the physical health benefits of movement throughout the office, mental health and creativity are enhanced as people interact with one another as they move throughout the office, creating social “collisions” that can encourage innovation and networking within the organization.
