The firm believes that the physicality of the space can reflect the company’s ideologies and evolving business dimensions. The new expansion floor for the client’s consulting has been designed to uphold the essence of its original characteristic while progressing towards a new-age office setup. Multiple visioning sessions were conducted to understand the current hierarchy and working style of the various business units which were to occupy the space. The aspiration from the new office was to shift away from the workplace of the past, and help transition into an open workspace while retaining the company hierarchy. The biggest challenge was a deep floor plate in most part and the client had a specific ask of planning all the partner cabins towards the window side restricting natural light. Given the requirement was heavy on closed rooms, selection of materials and colors for the open office was of utmost importance.
The color palette of the office was driven from the client’s global guidelines. The carpet is an interesting blend of shades of greys with pop of blues and oranges in pattern that also acts as way-finder connecting various zones. There is an abundant use of whites to compensate the lack of natural light which is carefully complemented by using a lot of wood and graphics interpreting company’s vision and values. A variety of communal and ancillary spaces were purposely designed to further enhance collaboration, but more importantly to promote a change of posture and mood by careful selection of variety of furniture settings and materials like exposed brick, patterned tiles. Selection of light fixture for collab space was also done keeping in mind various mood settings, which contributes positively to staff well-being. The slab to slab wooden biophyllic privacy screens are the highlight of the project, bringing in a lot of warmth and character while acting as demarcators between various business zones.
