The design firm completed a tenant spec suite at the client’s facility in downtown Pittsburgh. The buildin is on the National Historic Register and has a uniquely historic building core/atrium. The tenant space lacked an appealing entry and appeared dark from the building’s core. The design team’s challenge was to draw the natural light from the two story atrium to make this an attractive space to lease.
The design of the suite drew future tenants in by utilizing a vibrant carpet path leading them to the center atrium and natural light. The angle, created with color, naturally pulls you into the voluminous space. Bright green carpet tile was used in the “innovation lab” to mimic a courtyard and enhance the existing marble flooring.
